“We wanted to understand the landscape of Berlin, in terms of starting a branch in Germany.  We also wanted to network and gain some exposure to some of the players in the eco system.  We achieved both of these and look forward to doing more.”

Why did you decide to participate in the program? What did you expect? Did you reach the goals you have set for yourself and your company?

“We wanted to understand the landscape of Berlin, in terms of starting a branch in Germany.  We also wanted to network and gain some exposure to some of the players in the eco system.  We achieved both of these and look forward to doing more.”

Did you have any program highlight? Which kind of information did you use right away after the End of the program?

“I think the highlight was being able to present at the Greentech festival and the round tables that were organised.   I was able to make some good contacts and have some interesting follow-ups.”

Can you share with us any lessons learned?

“Time is the main thing that is required when building business to business relationships in Germany.”

What makes Berlin so special regarding Energy and Cleantechnologies and which kind of contacts and networks did you meet during your stay?

“Berlin creates a good environment within which to establish a base in Germany.  I’m not 100% sure if it is so focussed for Cleantech and Energy but there are some major innovation hubs for these sectors in the city.”

What will be your next steps?

“Try to establish more connections, with the help of Berlin Partners, if we can build a pipeline of sales in the next few months we will establish a branch office in Berlin.”

Where do you see the current challenges for startups providing solutions in the field of energy and cleantechnologies?

“Education among the Business clients, energy is still not a main priority and still little is done, in terms of government mandates to push efficiency in this sector.”

What would you recommend to startups interested in participating in the program?

“Come if you want to get a good feel for Berlin, what it can offer, and recieve a good grounding in who to start talking to here to get your company and idea off the ground.”
